  1. The Federal Government has granted approval for doctors, nurses, and other clinical healthcare professionals to serve as contract staff after reaching their mandatory retirement age or years of service. The government has emphasized that these contract staff members will receive the same salary scale as their retirement level, should they wish and qualify for it.
  2. Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, a prominent Yoruba nation advocate, has been released by the authorities in Benin. Igboho, who has been facing legal challenges, announced on Sunday that he is now free to depart from Cotonou, the capital of Benin Republic, and travel to Nigeria and other countries legally.
  3. President Bola Tinubu received support from 107 former senators within the All Progressives Congress (APC), who dismissed allegations of certificate forgery as political opposition tactics. Drawing inspiration from global examples, they expressed confidence that Tinubu would achieve success, akin to former US President Barack Obama and current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Defence Headquarters reported on Sunday that in the past week, the armed forces have neutralized 31 terrorists and apprehended 81 others in various operations across the North East, North Central, and North West regions of Nigeria.
