  1. President Bola Tinubu has appointed Kingsley Stanley Nkwocha as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Communications in the Presidency. Nkwocha joins a team of several other appointees who will serve in the Office of the Vice President.
  2. Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi, revealed that the current administration inherited a significant infrastructure portfolio from the previous Muhammadu Buhari-led government. This portfolio includes 2,604 road projects covering 18,000 kilometers, with an estimated value of at least N14 trillion. He made this disclosure following a briefing session with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
  3. In Imo State, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on patrol along Aba-Owerri Expressway rescued five pregnant teenage girls suspected to be victims of child trafficking. They were intercepted while being transported from their hideout in the Naze area of Owerri to the Ikenegbu area of the state capital.   7. The body of a Political Science student at Nasarawa State University, Lafia, Yusuf Mubaraq (27), who had been declared missing since the previous Saturday, was discovered in Kwara State. Mubaraq, a native of Kwara State, had last been seen around 10 pm on Wednesday after visiting a friend in GRA, Ilorin.
  8. Nigerian athlete Tobi Amusan, who previously finished 6th in the World Athletics Championship final in Budapest, has made a triumphant return. Amusan secured her third consecutive Diamond League title in the Women’s 100 meters hurdles with a time of 12:33 seconds.
  9. Tragedy unfolded in Okanla community, Osun State, as armed men attacked the palace of Olokonla of Okanla, resulting in the death of an admission seeker named Ibrahim Qudus. After the attack, the assailants set the palace ablaze, with one of the attackers identified as Naim, who did not conceal his face.
  10. A building with over 500 rooms partially collapsed in the Ketu area of Lagos State, leading to injuries and a rescue operation. At least two individuals are currently in critical condition at a private hospital following the incident.
