  • Governor Hope Uzodimma, the All Progressives Congress candidate, emerged victorious in Imo State’s governorship election, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission. The Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party raised concerns, disputing the results, alleging foul play. Uzodimma’s re-election was confirmed after securing victories in all 27 local government areas.
  • Africa’s wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, announced that his refinery has received a license to process over 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude per day. In an interview in Riyadh during the Saudi-Nigeria business roundtable, Dangote revealed plans to commence gasoline production soon.
