  • The Central Bank of Nigeria is reportedly scheduled to meet with shareholders of Union Bank of Nigeria, Polaris Bank, and Keystone Bank following the removal of the boards of directors of these banks.
  • Femi Falana, a human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has called on the Nigeria Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the reported brutality against lawyers in Lagos State. This comes in response to a peaceful protest organized by the Nigerian Bar Association against the unlawful detention of lawyer Olumide Sonupe by the police.
  • Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The purpose of the meeting was not disclosed by Governor Fubara.

  • The Kwara State Police Command has arrested Mustapha Jimoh of Amoyo area for allegedly stealing 20 cartons of Islamic literature, including the Quran and traditions of the Prophet (Hadith). The suspect reportedly broke into the personal library of Saudi Arabia-based scholar Ustaz Jamiu to steal the items
