Prince Carter Oshodin, Data Entry staff, who is a member of Non-academic Staff Union (NASU), UNIBEN, has reportedly ended it all over his dire financial situation.
It is reported that the incident which was stymied by the fiasco occasioned by the unresolved six months old strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities SSANU, led Prince to end it all on Friday, August 9.
According to the reports, the deceased was said to have been completely depr€§§ed over ‘no work, no pay” of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and decided to h@ng himself.
The deceased in 2017, had in a post on Facebook, revealed that the nonpayment of salaries was adversely affecting him and that he couldn’t withstand the sight of seeing his children hungry anymore, and with schools scheduled to reopen next week. He felt the pressures were too much on him.
However, eyewitnesses at UNIBEN revealed they had seen the deceased begging for financial support from passers-by before his demise.
Workers killing themselves over non payment of salary, this country is messed up.
