Travellers warned as heavy rain washes Jigawa bridge away
A bridge in Birninkudu is in tatters following rain-induced flash floods in Jigawa state.
The bridge is along the old Kano-Maiduguri highway and is at the verge of collapse, an eyewitness report says. It is, according to the report, the second bridge in the area to cave under pressure from torrential rains.
Those travelling to Bauchi, Gombe and Yola from Kano are advised to avoid the Birninkudu-Babaldu axis due to the latest bridge damage.
