Barcelona are preparing for a sea of changes in the summer 2024 transfer window, because their latest Champions League collapse and downswing in LaLiga results have the club questioning the level of star power they have in their ranks.
Although Barcelona need a world-class defensive midfielder and left winger, there are so many positives when it comes to young, up-and-coming talents. Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal are the latest breakout superstars in Catalunya.
It is no surprise that Yamal and Cubarsi headline a list of five players Barcelona will not consider sacrificing for those midfield or attacking upgrades in the summer transfer window.
Diario Sport reports that Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and prospect Mikayil Faye are the only five players in the squad the club considers unsellable in the summer 2024 transfer period.
Cubarsi looks like one of the best center backs in the world as a teenager, and Faye is another high-upside central defensive prospect.
Yamal is already one of the best right wingers in the world, while Pedri has been one of the best midfielders on the planet, only struggling with injury woes.
As for Gavi, he is another world-class midfielder at the age of 19. He is currently out with an ACL tear, but when he comes back, the all-action technician will be a top player for Barcelona.
Culers will be relieved to see that Barcelona value their nucleus of world-class youngsters highly, and as long as those players stay, they may not be upset if the likes of Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong are sacrificed for the right upgrades.
