Mick Parkin got the first big cheer of the night at UFC 304.
The heavyweight from Sunderland squared off against Łukasz Brzeski in the second bout of the night at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on Saturday night.
Parkin and Brzeski traded massive shots from the very first bell.
Their scrap had fans at UFC 304 going wild – but it didn’t last long.
Brzeski, the underdog, had some positive moments early on and decided to put pressure on Parkin before his night came to a brutal end.
The 28-year-old Englishman caught him clean on the chin with a counter right and immediately noticed a chance to stop his opponent.
Brzeski did a funny dance and tried to back up to the cage, but Parkin followed him and landed several more heavy shots to floor him finally.
A few more punches and the fight was waved off at 3:23 of round one.
Parkin is now 4-0 in the UFC and 9-0 a professional MMA fighter.
Despite being perfect, Parkin had been training hard to improve one area of his game after winning his first three UFC bouts by decision.
Tom Aspinall brought the heavyweight prospect into his camp full of the best big men in MMA and it’s paying dividends if his UFC 304 performance is anything to go off.
“They’ve got seven or eight giant guys from the UFC and PFL, Parkin told talkSPORT MMA ahead of his latest fight.
“It’s amazing to have that many high-level guys. I haven’t been to that many gyms really, but Phil [De Fries] has been around and he’s like, ‘It’s probably one of the best mats in the world for heavyweight’.
Parkin can now start making his way towards the heavyweight top 15.
Brzeski’s UFC future is a lot less certain after he dropped to 1-4 inside the Octagon.
