This Bf 109E was flown by pilot Ace Hans-Joachim Marseille. It was flown during the Battle of Britain 1940, where the aircraft shot down a Spitfire over the Thames Estuary. The aircraft then had to do a forced landing on a Calais beach on March 2nd 1940. After it was
recovered and repaired, it seen service on the Eastern front in Russia where it was eventually
abandoned.
