Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has laid a heavy curse on a scammer for impersonating her.
Taking to her Instagram page to share screenshots of the scammer’s messages, she revealed that the man was using her picture and name to defraud people of their hard-earned money. She questioned how this country would be great when she was struggling hard to build a name and brand, and someone was trying to taint her image by using her picture and name to defraud others.
Alerting her fans and followers about the scammer, she stated that she would appreciate it if they could get a way to report his WhatsApp and Opay accounts.

Tell me how this country wants to be great, when a lot of people are struggling, working hard to build a name and brand, and boom, one person will take their pictures and name only to be defrauding ppl up and down. Pls, it’s not me o; I don’t own this above number o. I would appreciate it if we could find a way to report both the WhatsApp and the Opay account

Similarly, in June, Portable’s baby mama, Ashabi, had called out a scammer who was using her name and picture to scam people. The scammer had slammed her for reporting its page, calling her a stingy girl, as he mocked her for being a side chick and a fourth baby mama. Reacting to it, she begged her fans to help her report and block the account as she noted how she thought she had seen it all. The pregnant actress went on to lay a curse on the scammer.
Last year, Alesh Sanni had placed a N500k bid on a lady who he claimed had been scamming people of millions, and posing as his friend. He revealed that he had reached out to her, hoping for them to settle things in private but her response caught him off guard. In a later post, he made a threat as he expressed sadness at how people were scamming one another, despite the hardship in the country.
In 2022, Peter Okoye had cried out over how online swindlers were using his name to scam people on social media. Responding to a fan who said he wanted N500,000 before the end of the year, Mr. P of PSquare noted how such online begging is the reason why internet fraud is on the rise.
Also, Nigerian entrepreneur and businessman Obi Cubana had cried out, after someone was scamming people using his name. Cubana stated that he was not on Twitter and someone had been using his identity to scam people.
