The Masked Singer fans are convinced they have worked out who Wolf is, after a number of clues were shared during the first episode of the latest series of the ITV show
The Masked Singer enthusiasts have been eagerly attempting to work out the identities of the celebrities behind the costumes since the show returned on 5 January. The beloved ITV programme is back for its fifth season, with Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Maya Jama forming the panel of judges.
After the unmasking of Spag Bol, revealed to be Kate Garraway, the remaining characters in the competition are Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Snail, Tattoo, Teeth, Pufferfish, Bush, Bear, Toad in the Hole and Wolf. A number of viewers reckon they’ve already figured out who some of the celebs are, with a few convinced they’ve cracked the identity of Wolf.
On Reddit, numerous fans expressed their belief that Wolf is none other than singer Marti Pellow. One fan posted a detailed breakdown of the clues pointing towards Marti being the star under the mask.

“I’m pretty confident that Wolf is Marti Pellow from Wet Wet Wet and here’s clues that prove it. Pope – did a cover of the folk song called Dante’s Prayer,” the post began.
The fan continued: “Ship – his great grandfather was a ship builder. Wolf pack – lead singer of pop group Wet Wet Wet. Fairy tale – has starred in pantos including Peter Pan. Has been on west end/Broadway. He was in the Broadway adaption of Jekyll and Hyde, hence the Jekyll and Hyde clue someone mentioned on the thread.”
Other fans of The Masked Singer also agreed, with one confidently stating: “100% Marti Pellow. The most obvious in the history of the show.” Echoing this sentiment, another added: “I’m with you on Marti Pellow! I was struck by the voice instantly.”
The identity of Pufferfish has also sparked a wave of speculation among the audience. A bustling fan theory on Reddit suggests that singer Jamie-Lynn Spears is the star behind the mask, reports the Mirror.
One user commented: “Okay so this wasn’t my idea but I’ve seen it somewhere and totally agree with it. Pufferfish could be Jamie-Lynn Spears?”
The clues discussed include a spider which could be linked to Jamie’s stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year, an American accent from Pufferfish potentially hinting at her nationality, and a dice showing the number 11 possibly pointing to the age of Jamie’s rise to stardom.
Additionally, fans have latched onto the phrases ‘Runs in the family’ and ‘Small but just as impressive,’ suggesting these could allude to her relationship with her internationally-renowned sister, Britney Spears.
