A papyrus known as the Demotic Legal Code of Hermopolis West, contains the most extensive known collection of Egyptian laws including those on property, inheritance, and even rainwater. Gutter systems to manage such rainwater were often decorated, such as this lion-headed waterspout adorning a temple in Dendera, Egypt.
