The 1900-year-old Pantheon which features the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome. At noon on 21 April, Traditional date of birth of Roman Empire, The sun’s ray through the oculus would strike the entrance doorway so that the Emperor entering the building would be bathed in the sunlight.

I’ve been there many times. My ancestors were brilliant
Roman cement, modern concrete. I know, semantics… but it matters. We only just figured out how the Romans made their ‘self healing’ cement. It’s pretty awesome!

Loved walking into this structure and studying the artifacts and history.
From what I understand, this was the largest domed structure in the world, until they built the Houston Astrodome… 1840 years later.
Have seen it and was amazed by how well it has stood through time 😀

My favourite building that I have visited. Never fails to stop me in my tracks. It’s just incredible. The interior marble looks brand new and it’s 1900 years old.
