The Sokoto State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for appointing Engineer Mustapha Mohammed as the new Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development.
SWAN described the appointment as a clear demonstration of the governor’s determination to revolutionise the sports sector in the state.
The association expressed optimism that the new commissioner’s vast experience in sports and hard work will empower the state’s youths to thrive in their chosen sports.
“Engineer Mohammed is no stranger to the sports sector, having sponsored Golden Stars and Champion Boys’ participation in the Grassroots Sports Federation Premier League in the state,” they noted.
According to SWAN, his appointment presents an opportunity for him to prove himself once again as a team player.
The association assured the commissioner of their full support, stating, “As sports media, we are optimistic about your ability to bring positive change.”
They also expressed confidence in his capacity to develop a progressive and sustainable grassroots sports development strategy for Sokoto State.
