British American Tobacco México has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Coordinator in Guadalajara
Implement and maintain adequate strategies to control and minimize the risks of Environmental Impact, Health, and Safety inherent to the operation and processes of TM&D (Trade, Marketing and Distribution); to comply with the Policies, guidelines and internal standards of British American Tobacco and the applicable Mexican Law and regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and/or implement EH&S operating procedures for BAT Mexico's distribution centers, as well as audit and promote their compliance in the different regions of the country.
- Actively participate in programs to improve the Environment, Safety, and Health to mitigate risks that may imply social, environmental, administrative, or economic impacts for the company.
- Periodically review the Mexican Laws, Regulations, and Official Standards applicable to the company in relation to the Environment, Safety, and Health to detect significant changes that may cause potential impacts on the company's operation; as well as to determine and recommend the company's response to such situations and attend the inspections carried out by Government Dependencies and insurance companies.
- Carry out periodic inspections of Environment, Hygiene, and Safety in the corresponding distribution centers to identify areas of opportunity or incorrect practices. Also, make solution proposals to the Area Managers regarding the corrective and/or preventive actions that must be taken and follow up on their implementation.
- Develop and implement plans and actions prior to the inspections of Government Dependencies to improve the levels of compliance with the regulations applicable to distribution centres and contribute to the investigation of all work and/or environmental accidents and incidents in which internal or external personnel participate and formalize in writing, in coordination with the responsible Area Managers, the necessary corrective and/or preventive actions.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Sustainability Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- At least 1 year of experience in roles related to Industrial Safety, Occupational Health and/or Environment.
- English level: advanced (written and verbal).
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of industrial safety issues.
