A crisis is currently brewing in Nasarawa State over the Supreme Court’s judgment, which affirmed the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
DAILY POST reports that the apex court on Friday reversed the sack of Governor Sule, affirming him as the duly elected governor of the state.
The development, however, didn’t go well with some residents of the state, particularly supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who blocked major roads in protest against the Supreme Court’s decision.
The ever-busy Lafia-Jos Road has been completely blocked as the protesters burn tires in front of the state secretariat of the party, thus barricading the road.
Although security agents are making efforts to restore normalcy, the protest has forced motorists to use alternative routes within Lafia, the state capital.
When contacted by DAILY POST, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ramhan Nansel simply said “Lafia is fine, no issues”.
