Sunderland Set To Sack Ex-Rangers Boss Michael Beale

Sunderland are set to part ways with former Rangers boss Michael Beale as manager, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Beale was brought in as Sunderland boss to replace Tony Mowbray in what many viewed as a controversial move on the part of the Black Cats.

He has struggled to deliver any kind of consistency at the Stadium of Light, with winning over fans also a significant problem for Beale, who has been in charge of 12 games.

Now Sunderland have quickly decided that Beale is to be shown the door.

Beale started the season off in charge of Scottish giants Rangers and was heavily backed in the summer transfer window.

He struggled badly at Ibrox though and Rangers sacked him last year.

Philippe Clement has since revitalised Rangers and put them top of the Scottish Premiership with largely the same set of players Beale struggled with.

Sunderland will hope a managerial change can have a similar effect on their squad over the remaining months of the season as they aim for a playoff spot in the Championship.
