Samsung rolls out March 2024 security update to Galaxy Tab Active 3 in USA

Samsung started rolling out the April 2024 security patch even before the month kicked in. However, that doesn’t mean the company is done releasing the last month’s security update. The brand is now pushing the March 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Tab Active 3 for the US (SM-T577U).

The update carrying last month’s security patch changes the Galaxy Tab Active 5G’s firmware version to T577UUES8EXC1. The March 2024 security patch fixes a total of 45 security issues, and among those, 36 fixes come from Google and 9 fixes come from Samsung. At the moment, the update is live for devices on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, which, as per our information, the only networks that sold the tablet in the region.

Owning the tablets for so many years, you might know the process to check for the update manually in case the device hasn’t notified you about it. However, if you don’t, here’s what you need to do: Navigate to Settings » Software update and click on the Download and install button. If the new firmware is available for your device, it will pop up on the screen. From there, tap on the Install button and the device will download and install it.

Currently, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 is on the quarterly security update schedule, which means that Samsung will roll out one security update to the tablet every quarter. So, expect the next security update to arrive before the end of June 2024. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab Active 3 with Android 10 (One UI 2.0), and it has offered Android 11 (One UI 3.X), Android 12 (One UI 4.X), and Android 13 (One UI 5.X) to the device. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Tab Active is not eligible to get the latest version of the OS, Android 14 (One UI 6.X).
