A Ryanair passenger was rushed to hospital immediately after the plane landed in Manchester due to a medical emergency on board. The flight crew of the Ryanair service had to call for urgent medical assistance before touching down at Manchester Airport.

The flight, FR4087 from Faro, Portugal, experienced a delay of about an hour on Sunday evening (September 1) as the crew responded to the situation. Ryanair has confirmed this afternoon (Monday September 2) that their crew requested medical support.


Upon landing, medics scrambled to attend to the unwell passenger. A Ryanair spokesperson said: “The crew of this flight from Faro to Manchester (September 1) called ahead to request medical assistance after a passenger became ill during descent. The passenger was met by medics upon arrival before being transported to hospital.”

It is understood that the individual suffered a seizure while on board, reports the Manchester Evening News. Flight tracking data from FlightRadar24 illustrated the aircraft’s route over the Peak District and Yorkshire before it successfully landed in Manchester around 8.50pm.
