The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun on Tuesday, visited Samson Ajao, a former President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree who is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Reading Aloud.
Apart from the Speaker, other dignitaries who Ajao on Tuesday in Osogbo include the Commissioner For Education in Osun State, Honourable Eluwole Sunday; Senior Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Students’ matters, Comrade Oladejo Bashiru; and the Chairman of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Honourable Ibikunle Fadipe.
Also, an aide to the Governor of Osun State, Oyeyemi Olalekan popularly called Emir alongside his team paid a courtesy visit to Ajao to encourage him in his quest to attain the feat.
The visit of the dignitaries was contained in a statement made available to Osun Defender, by Ajao’s publicity team.
The team further noted that Ajao Samson has now gone beyond 193 hours of Marathon reading aloud, out of his target of 214 hours.
According to the statement, “The recent courtesy visit of Comrade Oyeyemi Olamilekan Daud, popularly known as Ajagungbade, to Ajao Samson Olamilekan, former Student Union president of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, marks a significant moment of unity and support within the student community. Ajagungbade’s visit comes at a pivotal time, as Ajao Samson Olamilekan and his dedicated team are in the midst of an ambitious challenge: the Guinness World Record Marathon Reading Aloud of 214 hours.”
The current record title holder for longest marathon reading aloud, Rysbai Isakov is from Bursa, Turkey, with 124 hours reading aloud marathon, from September 22-27, 2022.
