Politicians hoarding palliative inviting God’s wrath upon themselves — Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has warned politicians against hoarding palliative meant for poor people, saying that those indulging in such are inviting God’s wrath upon themselves.

He advised federal and state governments to channel palliative distribution through traditional rulers because of their proximity to the people at the grassroots.

Oluwo said this while distributing 5kg bags of rice to women and the aged across family compounds in Iwo as part of his efforts to alleviate their suffering.

The monarch said President Bola Tinubu shouldn’t be left alone proffering solutions to the present economic hardship and called on public-spirited individuals to help those in need.

He said, “If any government or political officer holder is hoarding palliative, I believe that it is a curse. People should not incur the wrath of God in this period of Ramadan and Easter.

“You can’t finish all the food by yourself, it will only kill you. Instead, distribute it like I am doing to those who need it. This is leadership! King is the servant and the people; you treat them as kings because I want to raise kings.

“Government can extend palliative to the masses by reaching them through the traditional rulers. There are sincere monarchs across the country whose major interest is the welfare of their people.”
