The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has addressed rumours circulating about the convening of a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday to remove Ambassador Umar Damagun from his position as the acting National Working Chairman of the party.
The party clarified that NEC or BoT meetings serve as constitutional bodies to discuss various matters concerning the party’s affairs and unity for efficiency and administrative business not creating discomfort and political instability in the party affairs.
In response to these reports in Abuja on Tuesday, Hon Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the PDP National Chairman on Media and Communications, dismissed them as unfounded rumours aimed at misleading Nigerians by a certain group of people who are interested in their gains.
