The Zamfara State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has revealed that it repelled bandits’ attack near the Federal College of Education, (Technical), in Gusau, the state capital.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Gusau by the commandant of the command, Sani Mustapha, while addressing officers and men of the command, advising them to intensify more efforts towards providing adequate security for residents of the state.
He stated that operatives of the corps got a distress call on Monday of bandits’ plans to attack a community close to the college in Gusau.
“The patrol team quickly mobilised to the scene with their operational vehicle, where they repelled the attack, and battled the bandits who ran into the forest,” he said.
“The operatives remained in the axis to protect the locals till 4 am after the Muslims had completed their prayer.”
The NSCDC boss commended the Operations Department, Agro Ranger Unit, Rapid Response Squad, Gusau and Damban Divisions of the corps, for not allowing the bandits the freedom to kidnap or kill innocent people.
