Mutual Benefits Assurance commits to Nigeria’s economic growth

Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc has assured it will always be on the driver’s seat of efforts to move Nigeria’s economy forward, in spite of the various gridlocks.

This was stated by the firm’s chairman, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, at its 28th annual thanksgiving ceremony in Lagos, while adding that the underwriting firm definitely has solutions to challenging problems.

He highlighted that last year was important in the history of the organisation, noting that with the help of God, it scaled over formidable hurdles and obstacles, as God helped the firm.

Ogunbiyi said, “We have rebounded. Today, we are healthier and better. I want to assure you that we have indeed started this year, 2024, on the impressive note of tremendous progress and rejuvenated energy.

“On behalf of myself and my dear wife, I am here today to say thank you, first and foremost to the God and then, to my colleagues on the board, the management and of course, my real family members, respected staff members of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc and their families.”

He said when the firm’s resilience was tested, the purpose of the organisation defined them, faith in God kept them,  hope and reliance on dedicated and committed team members gave them confidence.

According to him, “The same way, Aaron and Hur held up the hands of Moses when they were heavy, my team members ‘stayed up my hands’ and we prevailed.

“Whenever I reflect on 2023, I am filled with pride in Mutual Benefits’ ingenuity and ability to effectively solve problems and take smart decisions.

“We are change makers and always ready to blast through glass ceilings to inspire, empower and connect with our customers in order to deliver highly beneficial values.”

Ogunbiyi submitted that the outcome of the firm’s absolute dependence on God is that He will continue to lead it, teach the management and direct them, continue to defend them, show them mercy and always bless them.

He stated that unlike most companies, Mutual Benefits Assurance always go the extra mile for its customers.

“We are very mindful of the high inflation in our economy and its effects on the lives and livelihood of our dear customers. It is a fact that consumers are indeed feeling the pinch but Mutual Benefits will always make sure they have value for the purchases of our highly beneficial insurance services and allied products.

“Customers should know that we provide value options at different premium levels to enable you choose the most appealing and affordable. For instance, for vehicle insurance, we have different premium levels for the third party, the third party-plus and, of course, the comprehensive insurance policy.”

“We have differentiating offerings in each category and therefore fix premiums that will resonate with each segment.

Mutual Benefits’ customers are very important partners and so, from time to time, we even absorb some costs on packages with appreciable discounted anchor prices.

“Our company has been distinguishing itself with services that are of immense beneficial values and that was why we were deservedly adjudged Africa’s Most Innovative Company by the African Reinsurance Corporation.

“We will always be upfront in doing our best and transparently communicating the intrinsic and extrinsic values of our offerings,” Dr. Ogunbiyi said.

He pointed out that the company would continue to leverage what it does best – that is, transforming brilliant ideas into beneficial values for the highly esteemed customers, employees and other stakeholders.

“We are a group of companies with an unyielding drive for excellence which is sustained through creativity and transformational innovation”, he said.

Ogunbiyi explained that the insurer crafts its values within an entrepreneurial framework and works very hard and also listens attentively with the necessary diligence to the dynamics of the market.

He said, “We, therefore, always deliver services that cater optimally to customers’ individual lives and businesses. We support our partners and we always stand as a very useful friend-in-need to our loyal customers.”

The Chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc assured partners and other stakeholders that no matter how uncertain and challenging the economic situation maybe, Mutual Benefits will remain stable, strong and prosperous.

However, he stated that they have more work to do, stressing that they are irrevocably committed to further deepening insurance penetration and would with every sense of responsibility deliver beneficial wealth creating values to doorsteps in Nigeria, Liberia, Niger Republic and beyond.

According to him, the firm’s highly beneficial values to customers would forever remain unequalled, stressing that the company would sustain its competitive advantage and never relent in differentiating Mutual Benefits with unique attributes.

Dr. Ogunbiyi implored customers, partners and other stakeholders to continue to keep faith in the firm and its unique deliverables and to always make that fundamental choice of patronising its services.

The General Overseer Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev. Sam Aboyemi, who was the guest minister at the event, appreciated God for keeping the company for 28 years, stating that the firm has done well in observing annual thanksgivings and that thanksgiving is the key to success.

He said, “I am happy that the company believes in the act of thanksgiving, the company will continue to make great success”, and prayed for the firm, asking God to sustain His help on the company as the only help man can bank on is the help from God.

Olufemi Asenuga, Managing Director/CEO, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, said the annual thanksgiving is observed to appreciate God for His good gestures on the company.

The CEO reiterated that in spite of the economic challenges, the company had a good performance in 2023, and attributed the success to God.
