Manchester United are prepared to take a huge hit on Antony to sell him in the summer, talkSPORT understands.
New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has identified Antony as a player he is willing to offload even though he knows the club will not recoup anywhere near the £86million they paid Ajax for his services.
He has not recorded a single goal or assist in his 20 Premier League appearances this season.
The only goal he’s scored in his 26 appearances this term came against League Two Newport County in the FA Cup.
Man United boss Erik ten Hag, who pushed for Antony’s signing, opted to start 19-year-old rookie Omari Forson ahead of the Brazilian in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham.
Ratcliffe is planning a big clearout to trim the Old Trafford wage bill with Casemiro and Raphael Varane likely big-name departures.
Both players are attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
A week on from Ratcliffe’s minority purchase in the Red Devils was confirmed, the INEOS chief’s plans to revamp things at Old Trafford is already being felt.
Ratcliffe has already appointed a new CEO in Omar Berrada, pinching him off rivals Manchester City and is looking to appoint Dan Ashworth as sporting director, although Newcastle are determined to not let him leave easily.
