A man was assaulted after a fight broke out between two takeaway workers. Merseyside Police has confirmed officers were called to a business on Stanley Road in Bootle at around 3.15pm on Sunday, after reports of an assault.

Officers attended the scene at a takeaway on the busy main road close to the roundabout with Linacre Lane, where they found a man in his 30s with what police described as superficial wounds. He has been taken to hospital where he continues to be treated after what police said was “an altercation with a colleague.”

A 37-year-old man from Bootle has since been arrested on suspicion of wounding. He has been taken into custody where he will be interviewed.
