Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, who is also being watched by both Chelsea and Tottenham
Liverpool have sent scouts to monitor Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as interest in the Borussia Dortmund star grows. The 20-year-old winger has become the latest English prospect to thrive in the Bundesliga after leaving Manchester City in 2020, despite initial injury setbacks and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bynoe-Gittens has enjoyed a strong start to the new season, scoring both of Dortmund’s goals in their opening-day victory against Eintracht Frankfurt and another brace in the Champions League. His performances under new head coach Nuri Sahin haven’t gone unnoticed.
Clubs across Europe are said to be closely monitoring Gittens’ progress, including Premier League giants Liverpool, claim Bild, as quoted by the Mirror. The Reds have reportedly sent scouts to watch Gittens, who is also on the radar of Chelsea and Tottenham.

However, it remains uncertain whether any of these clubs will solidify their interest in the New Year. Bynoe-Gittens progressed through the academy ranks at Manchester City after joining them as a teenager following a stint at Reading.
He left the Premier League champions without making a senior appearance, in a move reminiscent of Jadon Sancho. Liverpool’s interest in Bynoe-Gittens, who primarily plays on the left wing for Dortmund, could suggest they are preparing for life after Luis Diaz, who is rumoured to have some high-profile admirers himself.
Diaz’s father hasn’t been shy about expressing his belief that his son would feel right at home playing for Barcelona, who have long admired the Colombian star. Paris Saint-Germain also showed interest in him last summer.
The 27-year-old has been on fire this season and still has three years left on his current contract. However, the fact that Liverpool is now linked with Bynoe-Gittens after chasing Anthony Gordon in the summer suggests that the club’s recruitment team is already looking ahead.
It’s likely that the Reds are also preparing a succession plan for Mohamed Salah, who is now 32 and in the final year of his contract, with no sign yet of whether he and the club will agree to new terms.
