In a statement on Monday, General Secretary of CAN, Barrister Joseph Daramola, asked the company to retract the advert, tender an apology to Christians or face legal action and boycott of their products.

2. The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, yesterday, said the President’s sickness in 2017 took eight months from his time in office. Adesina, who was highlighting the accomplishments and legacy of the Buhari government during a TV programme, said the President spent eight months on treatment in the United Kingdom in 2017.

Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has asked the ‘Obidient Family’, which he leads, to see the incessant attacks on them as a huge sacrifice needed to rescue and build a new Nigeria that is possible. Obi, in a series of tweets, on Easter Monday, said he identified with his supporters who have been under attacks over their comments and counter comments.

4. The United Kingdom Government has barred active recruitment of health workers from Nigeria by health and social care employers in the UK. The UK disclosed this in its updated ‘Code of Practice’ for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel’ posted on its website.

5. The All Progressives Congress has opposed northern senators vying for the senate presidency. The National Vice Chairman of the APC (North-West), Malam Salihu Lukman and the party’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, on Monday, said for fairness, northern senators contesting the post should step down.

6. The prime suspect in the case of an Ibadan-based Instagram cloth vendor, Adeshina Olayinka, popularly called Khadi, who died mysteriously at Wetland Hotel, Akobo, in Ibadan, Oyo State recently is currently in police custody. Olayinka was found dead after the man she was with checked out early Thursday morning.

7. Ijaw leader and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has called for sanction against the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, for allegedly spreading fake news during his recent trip to the United States of America. Clark berated Lai for accusing the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, of treason and pushing for an interim government.

8. The Ondo State Police Command has said that it could not be confirmed that a 35-year-old man, Olorunfemi Tope, who was killed in a mob attack at the Ijoka Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Monday, was not an internet fraudster as alleged. The driver was killed after his vehicle allegedly crushed no fewer than two persons to death on Monday morning.

9. The Rivers State Police Command has commenced investigation into the police assault and brutality of a man in a video trending on social media. On Sunday, a video had gone viral on the social media in Port Harcourt, wherein an armed policeman was captured assaulting a man before his wife in Rivers State.

10. A campaign to block a life pension plan by outgoing Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has been launched. It was initiated yesterday by governor-elect Fr. Hyacinth Alia, who kicked against a Life Pension Bill about-to-be sent by the governor to the House of Assembly for consideration.
