It’s Jayden Daniels’ world and we’re all just living in it.
The sensational rookie quarterback has lit the league on fire in his first year, and has carried it into the postseason.
But not without having a little fun along the way.
The Washington Commanders soundly beat the Detroit Lions in the divisional round 45-31, and after the game it seems like Daniels had something to say.
On the podcast, Kicking It With Dee, host Donald De La Haye shared what Daniels had wrote on Lions defensive back Terrion Arnold’s jersey when they swapped tops after the game.
De La Haye said he is ‘cool’ with Arnold and that is how he found this out.
“He [Arnold] told me that he swapped jerseys with Jayden Daniels after the game,” De La Haye said.
“And on the bottom of the jersey, Jayden Daniels wrote, ‘Cancun on 3, 1-2-3.’
“And then they swapped jerseys.”
An all-time troll response by Daniels.
Rookie on rookie crime.
Whether that is actually true or not, remains to be seen.
But it’s likely that there is a white Daniels jersey in Arnold’s house with the ultimate troll line written in black sharpie.
Daniels and the Commanders play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon in the NFC championship with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
It is Washington’s first conference title game since the 1991 season.
Daniels is only one of six quarterbacks to ever reach the conference championship.
The first year man out of LSU can become the first rookie in NFL history to start a Super Bowl, if he beats the Eagles.
Meanwhile in Detroit, the Lions’ franchise best 15-2 regular season went up in flames courtesy of Daniels
The one seeded Lions were ravaged by injury on defense, which ultimately was their undoing.
Factor in an uncharacteristic five turnover game from the offense, and it was an early and somber disappointing exit for head coach Dan Campbell and the Lions.
All eyes will now be on Lincoln Financial Field come Sunday, to see who comes out of the NFC.
And there’s a good chance Arnold is watching the game from Cancun.
