JAMB to Release 2023 UTME Results on May 2, with Rescheduled Exam for Some Candidates on May 6

According to a statement by Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), results for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. In addition, candidates who were not able to sit for the examination at their scheduled time due to no fault of theirs will have the opportunity to write the examination on Saturday, May 6, 2023. This includes candidates who were verified at their centres but could not sit the examination, those who could not be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data.

Benjamin further stated that the release of the results was delayed to ensure that all necessary screening processes were concluded, and the mean and standard deviation were reasonably obtained before releasing the results. He added that candidates who sat for the examination but encountered challenges without being aware of such would not see their results, but would instead receive notification for a rescheduled examination. All candidates who sat for the examination are urged to check their results on or before Thursday, May 8, 2023.

Out of the 1,586,765 candidates that indicated interest in sitting for the examination, only 80,166 candidates are still outstanding. Some candidates in certain centres could not sit for the examination on the first day of the 2023 UTME and some centres in subsequent days due to various reasons. While some have been rescheduled and have taken the examination, others are yet to take their examination. As a result, the Board has fixed Saturday, May 6, 2023, for all categories of candidates who have not sat for their examination, as listed below, to take their examination.
