Peter Crouch has hilariously revealed he ‘let everyone down’ after a supporter joked that they’d spotted him at the London Stadium.
The popular striker has been working as a TV pundit for TNT Sports since hanging up his boots and was in action for Fulham‘s clash with Man City on Saturday lunchtime.
However Crouch was part of a joke on social media when one fan shared an image of a blow-up doll at West Ham’s win over Luton with the caption: “Inflatable day”.
As well as appearing to be completely naked, the doll attracted attention for being tall and slim – characteristics that the former England international is known for.
Standing at 6 ft 7in, Crouch was a commanding presence during his playing days, but his eye-catching stature often leads to banter from fans.
This led to one fan sharing the image of the doll and joking: “@petercrouch put some clothes on and get off the pitch.”
