The Chase fans were left stunned on Thursday’s episode as one contestant revealed her age.
During the latest episode of the hit ITV game show, viewers were introduced to contestants Aaban, Margaret, Willis and George. As each contestant introduced themselves, show watchers were left floored to learn that Margaret was in fact 92.
Margaret explained she had resided in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, for the past eight years and shared that her husband’s RAF career led them to move house 33 times. She also mentioned her son Matthew had previously appeared on The Chase and walked away with £25,000, inspiring her to try her luck on the show.
Revealing her plans if she won money, Margaret explained that her other son, Adrian, was an airline pilot and he was due to retire soon so she wanted to go on one of his flights before retirement.

Bradley Walsh, the host of The Chase, expressed his astonishment at Margaret’s age, pointing out she was the show’s eldest female participant ever, and commended how well she looked for her age, reports the Mirror.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Margaret at 92 is doing fantastically! #TheChase”, a different account wrote: “Wow 92! #TheChase”, another wrote: “92 go on Margaret #thechase”, a different fan put: “Margaret is looking fab at 92! #TheChase” while a different account added: “92 and going on quiz shows. Amazing. And she looks fantastic #TheChase.”
Elsewhere, another wrote: “If only we could all be like Margaret when we hit 92! #TheChase”, a different account put: “What a lovely 92 years young Lady #TheChase”, another put: “Wow, this Lady is 92 years old! You go girl. #TheChase” while a different viewer added: “#thechase Margaret is a star 92 years old #keepitinthefamily.”
However, despite a strong start, she was beaten by The Chaser Shaun Wallace and it meant her time on the show sadly came to an end before winning any money, leaving viewers gutted.
Taking to Twitter, now X, after her fate on the show was revealed one person said: “I hope Margaret gets to fly on her sons last flight, bless her heart #TheChase”, a different account put: “Really wanted Margaret to get through #TheChase”, another put: “I hope Margaret’s son pays for her to fly with him. #thechase” while a different show watcher added: “Shame to lose Margaret, she seems a lovely lady. #TheChase.”
The Chase airs every single weeknight at 5pm on both ITV and ITV X.
