INEC To Hold Mock Accreditation On November 6 – Independent Newspaper Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will conduct a mock accreditation exercise on November 6, ahead of the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2024. The test will focus on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the result upload process through the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, made this announcement in a statement on Thursday. He explained that the exercise will take place across 12 polling units in six local government areas, covering the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.

According to Olumekun, the selected polling units in Ondo Central Senatorial District are located in Akure South and Idanre Local Government Areas (LGAs). In Akure South, the mock accreditation will be held at Alagbaka Primary School and Ijapo High School, both in Akure. In Idanre LGA, the designated locations are Our Saviour Primary School, Aiyetoro/Owena I, and an open space in front of Plot 6, near the Teaching Service Commission in Owena.

In Ondo North Senatorial District, the mock accreditation will be conducted in Owo and Akoko South West LGAs. In Owo, the centers will be Methodist Primary School on Fajuyi Road and Imade College Gate on Ajaka Street. For Akoko South West, the exercise will take place at the open space in Ago Ajayi, Oba, and at L.A. Primary School in Oba.

For Ondo South Senatorial District, Odigbo and Okitipupa LGAs have been selected. In Odigbo, the centers will be St. John’s Primary School in Ajue and Isero Grammar School in Odigbo. In Okitipupa, the locations are Oladipupo Lebi Street, near Zhomelo Lodge, and Baptist Primary School in Ode Aye.

INEC also stated that a detailed graphic with the names and locations of these centers has been uploaded to its website and social media platforms for public access.

The Commission encouraged registered voters in these designated polling units to participate in the mock exercise by bringing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). However, it clarified that only voters from the specified units would be eligible, and no voter from other units will be allowed to participate.
