Popular comedian/actor and filmmaker Basketmouth recently shared his experience in the movie industry as a filmmaker during an interview.
He spoke about the power of having a good budget, while referencing some filmmakers who get funds for movies, and end up blowing away the money on personal needs, which shortens their budget and reduces the quality of their movies.
Speaking on budgeting for movies, Basketmouth said that he once had to raise the sum of 300 million Naira for a movie project in twenty-four hours, and he was able to do it.
Basketmouth also spoke about working with young people, and he cited that the older generation of filmmakers have a lot to learn from the young ones, and that the older filmmakers shouldn’t have it in mind that they are doing a favor to the younger ones simply because they’re working with them.
The talented comedian also threw a jab at his colleagues in the comedy industry, who solicit for funds on stage, citing that it is dishonorable, and they should instead focus on giving a good performance.
