Harry Kane responds to Arsenal fans chanting anti-Tottenham song during live TV interview

Harry Kane had a cheeky response to Arsenal fans who hung around at the Emirates Stadium to sing anti-Tottenham chants at him.

The Bayern Munich star scored a penalty in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in a dramatic first leg of their Champions League tie.

It was his first appearance in north London since leaving Tottenham last year for Bayern and the Gunners faithful were keen to give him quite the send-off when he did his post-match interview pitchside on TNT Sports.

As he spoke to host Laura Woods who was joined by analysts Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown, Arsenal fans behind the camera could be heard singing: “What do we think of Tottenham? S***. What do we think of s***? Tottenham.”

The noise made almost drowned out Kane’s interview, who had to speak louder to be heard but when Woods asked him about the Arsenal fans, the striker replied: “I think they have a soft respect for me.”

Arsenal came flying out of the traps against Bayern Munich and were well worth their early lead through Bukayo Saka.

However, a minute to forget followed as Ben White missed a sitter and a defensive error saw Serge Gnabry equalise.

More calamity at the back saw Leroy Sane glide towards goal unchallenged before William Saliba brought him down in the box.

Kane was given the penalty duties, and like of often before, tucked it home with ease to score his 15th goal against Arsenal, something which was no doubt enjoyed by the other half of north London.

The 30-year-old explained that research done on Raya helped him out, having watched him against Porto.

“He gets in the corners early, so I had to change my style a little bit. It was nice to see [David Raya] go early and make it easier for me.

“It was a tough game. Of course we are never happy when we don’t win.

“You’ve seen it over the past couple of years, Arsenal have had a good go at trying to win the league and they are top of the league for a reason.”

There was a further twist to the tale when Leandro Trossard came off the bench to grab a late equaliser but there could have been more for the Gunners.

In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Saka rushed through on goal only for Manuel Neuer to appear to take him down but the referee decided against giving a penalty.

The decision proved contentious with some agreeing with the referee and others shocked.

Manager Mikel Arteta was diplomatic when asked about the incident at full-time, though opposite number Thomas Tuchel was visibly raging at Bayern being denied a penalty for handball.
