‘Gripping’ Stephen Graham drama fans were ‘gutted to finish’ is streaming free before Adolescence

Catch up on one of Stephen Graham’s best projects ahead of his new Netflix series

Stephen Graham is starring in one of Netflix’s most highly-anticipated new shows of 2025, the thrilling four-part drama Adolescence.

Set to be released on the platform on 13th March, the Peaky Blinders star portrays a father who’s left devastated when his young son is accused of a horrendous crime.

Millions of subscribers are expected to tune in but, until then, fans are wondering what they should watch to prepare them for this adrenaline-fuelled TV event.

If you’ve not had the chance yet, take this as your sign that it’s the perfect time to catch up on the director behind Adolescence’s previous rollercoaster drama, Boiling Point.

A follow-up to the 2021 film of the same name, this 2023 series was helmed by Philip Barantini and stars Stephen Graham as Andy, a former head chef at a gourmet restaurant.

Boiling Point is widely considered one of the best shows of the 2020s

Set six months after the film, the four-part series, each episode filmed in just one-take, follows Andy’s protégée Carly (played by Vinette Robinson) running her own kitchen.

You can currently binge watch the entire series on BBC iPlayer completely free of charge, making it the ideal watch for the few remaining weekends ahead of the new Netflix drama.

Don’t take our word for it – Boiling Point has received rave reviews from TV fans who have sung its praises in Google reviews.

One ecstatic write-up said: “I watched the short and the feature film and have just finished the fourth episode of series one.

“I was gutted when I realised this was the final episode. I really hope the show gets a second and longer series.

“It had me gripped and I just want to know more about all of the characters.”

And another agreed: “It’s useful to watch the film first, but not essential. I thought the TV show was a lot better than the film, it was so brilliant and I was gutted when I realised I’d watched the final episode.

“I really hope it gets renewed, the cast were fantastic and I wanted to eat the food cooked..”

A third five-star review said: “Amazing I watched the movie and stumbled across the series. It’s absolutely brilliant. Gripping, on the edge of your seat drama.

“The story lines are so good and it makes you feel so many emotions. I literally binge watched every episode in one night.”

While a final enthusiast wrote: “Film was good but TV series was brilliant. Would totally recommend best thing I’ve seen in ages.

“Really hope there’s a second series. Amazing acting from the whole cast.”

Unfortunately, a second season of Boiling Point isn’t currently on the horizon, but, thankfully, Barantini’s next project is just around the corner and looks equally as gripping.

Boiling Point is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Adolescence will be released Thursday, 13th March on Netflix.
