Gov Muftwang seeks collaboration to tackle challenges facing Plateau

Governor Caleb Muftwang of Plateau has called on the people of the State to lay aside their differences in faith, ethnicity, or status to combat the common challenges facing the state, emphasising that decades of violence have benefitted no one.

The Governor who made call at the breakfast with the Muslim Ummah at Little Ray Field Government House Jos, Plateau State emphasised the significance of the gathering in fostering mutual understanding, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, and collectively working towards a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau.

He called for a return to the spirit of love and brotherhood practiced in the past and expressed gratitude to the Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Alh. Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, the Emir of Borgu, Alh. Muhammed Sani Haliru, and other Islamic leaders for their presence at the event, noting that their participation will help to foster cohesion and enduring friendships across divides.

He remarked, “I am delighted that we have gathered tonight in this welcoming atmosphere to share a meal without fear or suspicion. Plateau belongs to all of us, and it is our choice whether to unite as wise individuals or perish as fools.”

Governor Mutfwang highlighted the ample reasons for the citizens of Plateau to coexist harmoniously and strive towards a state where all citizens can conduct their affairs without fear and urged the Muslim Ummah to view their gathering as the beginning of positive developments for the state and a solid foundation for Nigeria’s unity and peace.

“We are committed to making Plateau a role model for Nigeria, exemplifying inclusiveness, justice, and fairness. As your Governor, I continually pray for the wisdom to lead Plateau aright.”

The Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, and the Emir of Borgu, Alh. Muhammed Sani Haliru commended Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to justice, fairness, and inclusive governance in Plateau State.

They prayed for Governor Mutfwang to be endowed with more wisdom, knowledge, and strength to further elevate Plateau, citing evidence of a promising start and urging citizens’ support for the administration.

Chairman of Jama’tul Nasri Islam, JNI, Plateau State, and Emir of Wase, Alh. Muhammadu Sambo Haruna expressed gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for supporting the Muslim community in Plateau. He noted that 70 percent of road rehabilitation and repairs in the Jos metropolis were within the Muslim community.

He dispelled rumors about the Governor’s stance towards Muslims, citing Governor Mutfwang’s tangible efforts to develop the Muslim community in less than a year, surpassing the achievements of previous administrations.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to support Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s administration for the peace, unity, and progress of Plateau and the greater good of the Ummah.
