Renan Ferreira towered over Francis Ngannou as the heavyweight titans came face to face for the final time before fight night.
Ngannou is set to make his long-awaited return to MMA on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia in a much-anticipated PFL heavyweight title fight.
He hasn’t stepped foot inside the cage since defending his UFC heavyweight crown against Ciryl Gane in January 2022.
After the fight, Ngannou split from the UFC and signed with rival promoter PFL.
The expectation was that he would make his company debut in 2023.
However, a pair of blockbuster boxing bouts with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua took precedence.
Now those fights are done and dusted with, Ngannou is set to finally duke it out in the PFL Smart Cage against 2023 heavyweight tournament winner Ferreira.
At 6ft 5in tall, Ngannou is unquestionably a massive human being.
But he was dwarfed in size by his 6ft 8in foe as they faced off at their ceremonial weigh-in on Friday afternoon.
Ngannou tipped the scales at 256.8lbs while Ferreira came in even heavier at 261.5lbs.
This made their combined weight a monstrous 518.3lbs.
The pair butted heads as they faced off ahead of their collision this weekend and both seemed extremely confident as they exchanged words on the mic.
“As Francis said himself, only one man will stand and I’m standing in that cage,” said Ferreira after the fiery face-off.
“I’m ready for this fight, I trained a lot. I’m feeling happy and I’m ready to put on a show.”
Ngannou then added: “I expect everything from him. I think that by this moment we are ready for everything and tomorrow is the time.
“There is one way to come out victorious and that is to beat him and let him know who is the king.
“Who is the king Renan?” Ferreira replied: “Probelma (his nickname).”
“There is no need to answer,” Ngannou fired back. “I am the king.”
