Why are male children closer to their Mum than Dad?

I have noticed in families that male children are always closer to their mum than their dad. I will like to know the reason for this.

To me, i feel that it is not only the male but also the female children are very close to their mum than their Dad.
Most Dads, find it difficult to give their wards the necessary attention they need, they are always busy trying to put food on the tables of their families.
But in the other way round, mothers are homemakers, so they have most of the time to take care of their children, this brings the children closer to her morethan their dad.

Because women knows how to pamper children than men and at the same time women refer punishment to the dad making the children see their dad as a figure of discipline whereas the man is really helping them to shape their lives
