Who Deserves the Most Credit for a Hit Song?

I just noticed that for any hit song, the most credit is given to the singer whereas for a song to be a hit it usually involves 3 major parties i.e 1. The Songwriter, 2. The Singer and 3. The producer. It is only the singer that is given the most credit whereas without the three of them the song cannot be a hit. To me, i think the songwriter should be accorded the most credit because without him/her there is nothing for the other two to work on. What do you think?

It has to be the singer. You can write a nice song but without a good singer, it will never be a hit. There have been instances where same song was rendered by different artists and people tend to prefer one to the other despite the fact that they are singing the same thing. Blackface claimed that he wrote African Queen, now imagine if Blackface had rendered it solo like 2face did, do you think it would have "blown" ? Now lets look at the producer's side, if you produce a nice beat, you will still need a good singer to "kill the beat" to make it a hit. Imagine singing rubbish to a wonderful beat, do you think it will "blow"?
