Anytime i want to drink tea, i prepare Milo for myself, but recently i was in a Lagos restaurant when a customer asked for a cup of tea and a young girl which i assumed is a new waitress served him Milo. The man rejected the milo and insisted he asked for tea, the waitress also insisted she served her a cup of tea, while this was going on, the owner of the restaurant came in and apologised to the man and was told he would be served in less than 2 minutes, I left while they went to prepare the tea for the man but i kept asking myself since then, is Milo not tea? what's your own idea?

Of course, Milo is not Tea. Tea is made from leaves of shrubs like Green tea or Lipton Tea while Milo is a chocolate flavoured malted beverage. but the problem is that in Nigeria, we call beverages Milo, all SUV is jeep, all food seasoning is Maggi, all noodles is indomie etc
Milo is not Tea. What if you prepare Bournvita, It is still tea right? These beverages we call Tea in Nigeria are not recognised as Tea in foreign countries. Tea is prepared by pouring hot water over the leaves of camellia sinensis. In Nigeria any beverage we prepare by pouring hot water on it before drinking is referred to as Tea which is not correct.
