What Have We Gained from Currency Redesigned and Cashless Policy?

Few weeks ago when Nigerian government brought the issue of currency redesigned and cashless policy we were told Nigerians have lots to gain and benefit. But now the economy has not improved, Naira value has not improved, politicians still bought votes with money. This made me to ask, what have we gained from that policy because Nigerians were just thrown into untold hardship with their money in banks without being able to have it back. What have we gained please?
