What does it truly mean to love someone in the actual sense of it? I've always thought love is subjective, that is you can't choose who you have feelings for. It just comes naturally.
I need a definitive answer to both questions "What does it truly mean to love someone in the actual sense of it? " and "Can love last forever, or is it inevitably subject to change and evolution over time?"

Nothing can last forever in this world. The love you have for an individual will eventually fade away at some point in time.
It depends on what you are loving about the person. You can’t just love someone for loving sake, something must have made you love the person, either the person’s character, principles, physique or something else.
When you talk about love, you talk about the personification of love himself, God the creator who loved the world so much he gave his only son for us and you also consider the love Jesus Christ has for us by surrendering himself to be crucified just for us. Then you will understand that love is not a small thing and there is no limit to it as God the creator and Jesus christ have both shown us how love should be and what love can do.
