President Bola Ahmed Tinibu has recorded significant improvement on the fight against security challenges which hitherto jeopardize socio economic and political development of the country, a security analyst expert, Dr, Yahuza Getso has disclosed
Dr. Getso who spoke with newsmen noted that security situations especially in the northern part of the country has improved
He explained that true to his words, president Tinibu had during his inaugural speech in May 2023 spoke at length on measures to be taken by his administration to tackle the menace of insecurity.
Dr Getso explained that president Tinibu had during his maiden meeting with Security Chiefs, categorically told them to deplore their wealth of experience to contain security challenges bedevilling the country
He said president Tinibu gave them matching order to use every means available to them to ensure the nation is safe from Security threats.
According to him, other measures employed by the president included the appointment of competent hands like General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff along with the other Service Chiefs to head armed forces
Dr Getso also noted that as part of the measures to contain insecurity, he appointed former governor of JIgawa state Alhaji Badaru Abubakar as minister of defense given the fact thatJigawa state was the only Northwest that did not record armed banditry while he was governor of the state
He maintained that the former Jiawa state governor was able to lead Jigawa state peacefully and stable with no record of bandit’s
He explained that as Minister of Defence Badaru Abubakar was able to manage and succeed in administering the affairs of the ministry through regular consultations with relevant Security stakeholders such as Security Chiefs , Traditional rulers Religious Leaders and elders among others.
The analyst further said the working synergy between the Security Agencies and effective monitoring of their performance by the office of National Security Adviser had contributed immensely in crippling Boko Haram insurgency with many of the extremists surrendering to the constituted authority.
