There were concerns the clash at Goodison Park would be called off due to freezing weather
Everton’s FA Cup third round match against Peterborough United is set to go ahead as planned. Merseyside Police confirmed the decision in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
“There will be a press release shortly from Everton following the 1pm Ground Safety Advisory Group,” it read. “BUT the game tonight has been given approval and is on. Given the conditions, please drive and walk carefully to Goodison and wrap up warm, as it’s going to be cold.”
Everton confirmed on Thursday morning that a meeting would take place to assess the safety of conditions around Goodison Park. That was after freezing temperatures caused issues across the Merseyside region.

A yellow weather warning was issued for snow and ice. It came after days of traffic chaos, school closures and rail cancellations in the region.
Everton have already had one game postponed this season, with last month’s Merseyside derby with Liverpool ruined by the impacts of Storm Darragh.
The match against Peterborough will be available to view on BBC iPlayer and on the Red Button. Supporters were left furious by the Thursday night scheduling of the game, with the traveling fans having to make the journey north on a week day.
