Jose Mourinho is desperate to be handed a second chance at Manchester United.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Mourinho would even “walk” to Old Trafford to replace Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese manager was sacked by United in December 2018.
But it is believed that Mourinho has a good relationship with United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
It remains to be see if that is enough to land him the job after being fired by AS Roma in January.
The report adds that Mourinho is not expecting an approach from United, who are reluctant to reappoint the 61-year-old at this stage.
Ten Hag’s position is under fierce scrutiny after the team suffered their 13th Premier League defeat of the season in a humiliating 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace.
