Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, and his Chelsea counterpart, Graham Potter, have confirmed the players that will miss both teams’ Premier League tie on Thursday.
Chelsea will on Thursday night host Manchester City in the Premier League tie at Stamford Bridge.
Both teams head to the match after playing a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest and Everton, respectively, in their previous Premier League fixtures.
Speaking at their different pre-match press conferences on Wednesday, Guardiola said Ruben Dias would not feature against the Blues.
He also provided the latest update on Laporte.
Guardiola said: “Ruben is out. Aymer [Laporte], we will see today at the training session.”
On his part, Potter said goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who sustained a shoulder injury while representing Senegal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will not play against Guardiola’s side.
Potter said of Mendy, “He’s been training a little bit more than he was.
“He’s not fully fit at the moment, but hopefully, in the next week or so, he might make some progress.”
The kick-off time for the match is 9 pm.
