Edo Assembly recalls 2 suspended lawmakers

After  five months of suspension, the Edo State House of Assembly has recalled two suspended lawmakers, Donald Okogbe  and Adeh Isibor.

The House had in May suspended the lawmakers claiming that they brought “juju” to the assembly premises and allegedly tried to overthrown the leadership of the assembly.

The House suspended Donald Okogbe (PDP-Akoko-Edo II), Adeh Isibor (APC-Esan North-East I) and Bright Iyamu ( Orhiomwon South) over alleged plot to impeach the speaker and other principal officers.

But in June, the House Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, however, recalled Bright Iyamu, saying he had been found to be remorseful.

At resumption of plenary yesterday, Speaker Agbebaku said the House had agreed to recall the remaining two lawmakers.

The House however, approved 57 sitting days calendar for the second quarter, second session of the eight assembly.

Meanwhile, Agbebaku  congratulated the governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, on his victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
