The Kano State Government has deployed necessary mechanisms to curtail growing cases of diphtheria disease as no fewer than three treatment centres have been established in the state.
The state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Yusuf, made the disclosure while giving an update on the outbreak of the diseases on Thursday.
He said a state such as Kano should not be battling with such an outbreak but failure of the previous administration to immunize the people exacerbated the situation.

Yusuf revealed that over one hundred and thirty (130) persons were admitted last Monday alone as the case continues to grow.
The commissioner however added that Governor Yusuf had since directed the ministry to swing into action to curtail the spread of the deadly disease adding that three designated centres have been provided for treatment and admission.
He, however, called on the public not to hesitate to seek medical assistance anytime they experience any of the symptoms as listed by the NCDC
