In a recent development, Afrobeat superstar and “Feel” crooner Davido has come on social media to clear the air following rumors of him getting arrested.
Taking to his Instagram story, he expressed that the rumors were completely false. He further stated that he had never been arrested before, not in his country Nigeria or anywhere in the world.
He expressed how he finds the fabrication of allegations irresponsible, regardless of the fact that it was made on April Fool’s Day. He also further revealed that his lawyer was seeking legal action against all the media parties that are responsible in generating the misinformation.
He also thanked his fans for their continued support. In his words, he had this to say,
“SETTING RECORD STRAIGHT ON FALSE ARREST REPORTS
Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports regarding an arrest circulated online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls.
I want to assure my fans that these reports are entirely untrue. I successfully completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and have since returned home to Nigeria.
I’d also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I’ve made home throughout my career.

Now, recall that yesterday reports had emerged that Davido had been detained at JKIA airport in Kenya. It was reported by one K24TV that he had been apprehended by the Anti-Narcotics Police Unit following a search on his private jet at the Kenyatta International Airport. However, no other further back story was given.
Now, also recall that Kemi Filani had reported that following the controversies surrounding Very Darkman in the past couple of weeks, he had expressed that Davido should not be involved in a process that will contribute to Very Darkman’s release.
